Who it's for

Built for blokes who train hard but never got the results to match.

Jumping between programs, guessing, following whatever you saw online? You show up and put the work in — then waste it on a plan that was never built properly. This is the next step.

The program

The exact program I run. Strong, muscular, lean.

The Engine Room is the missing piece: you keep your gym membership, we give you the actual plan you follow once you get there.

Open the app — today's session is laid out for you, every exercise, sets and reps.

Don't know a movement? Tap it — the demo video's right there.

In & out in 60 minutes — joint-friendly, structured, built to follow for life.

Pick a 3 or 4-day track. Message me anytime — and train alongside a room full of blokes chasing the same thing.

The method

Intensification & accumulation — block on block.

The engine of the program — the same periodised method Chris uses with professional athletes. Build volume and a base, then drive strength and load on top of it. Each block runs long enough to measure real progress against itself. Planned progress, never guesswork.

Our story

I'm not a genetic freak who never got hurt telling you to train smart. I'm the bloke who got hurt every way there is — and figured out how to keep coming back.

I'm Joe. Born and raised in Geelong, and for as long as I can remember I wanted to be great at something. I chased it through footy, then punting — three years of college ball in America, then the professional ranks, signing with Saskatchewan in the CFL.

But here's what nobody tells you about chasing greatness through your body: your body sends you the bill. Two ankle surgeries. Two knee surgeries. A hip. A shoulder. Broken wrist, broken leg, torn hamstrings, concussions. Every time I got close, something broke and I had to fight all the way back.

Through every bit of it, one thing never cut me: the gym. It was the one place in my life I actually controlled. When everything else was taking my confidence, training gave it back.

So I got serious about doing it right. I went looking for the best strength coach I could find, and one name kept coming back: Chris Dennis. His programming got me strong enough to reach the level when my own body was telling me I couldn't.

And here's what I realised: I had access to one of the best strength coaches in the world. Almost nobody does. Most people who genuinely want to train hard never get that chance — they burn money on memberships, supplements and programs that don't work, and waste years feeling like they're going nowhere.

That's why I built The Engine Room with Chris. It's the programming I had to fight, bleed and rebuild through injury after injury to get access to — now open to anyone who wants it. If you've always wanted to train hard and never had the right guide, this is it.

Questions

Everything you're wondering.

Structured and progressive — every block builds on the last, weights and reps move on purpose, nothing is random. You're not guessing week to week. It's the same program Chris and Joe run, pressure-tested and adapted.

Strength, muscle size, and a real engine — without breaking the body down. It's built on hard work, discipline and intelligent programming that you actually enjoy. Look the part, and back it up.

It's for people who want to commit to one system long-term, not program-hop. It's not for someone chasing a magic 6-week fix. This training isn't for everybody — and you'll know after the first session whether it's for you.

The number-one fear of lifters — and no. The conditioning is dosed so it builds work capacity without eating muscle. That's exactly the problem this program solves: intelligent programming lets you gain across all areas at once.

It's built for every lifter — home garage, functional-fitness gym, or a commercial gym. At home you'd ideally want a barbell and plates, a rack, an incline/flat bench, and dumbbells or kettlebells. Everything works on movement planes, so if you're missing a piece of kit there's always an alternative that produces the same result.

If it's taking you longer than 60 minutes, you're doing it wrong — you're either going too heavy or resting too long. Followed as prescribed it's 50–60 minutes, warm-up to finish. Get off your phone and get to work.

Same principles, same quality — built differently to fit your week. The 3-day is a total-body program on a day-on/day-off schedule. The 4-day is an upper/lower split run twice a week. You can even run the 4-day across three sessions a week if you want more recovery. Switch between them any time.

Be a thinking athlete. Look at the movement pattern and swap in an alternative that hits the same pattern and muscles. No bench available? DB bench, Smith bench, machine press, weighted push-ups. There's always a swap that keeps the stimulus — nobody's stuck, and we'll help you find it.

Leave the ego at the door — this isn't max-effort lifting, it's intensification and accumulation of load in a short window. The aim is no failed reps. Preview the session the night before and plan your weights. If you're failing before the last set, it's too heavy — adjust and keep building week on week.

It's fully self-scalable to your ability. The program is hard, so it isn't for everyone — but if 5 sets of 8 feels daunting, start at 3 sets of 8, build to 4, then 5. We're giving you the blueprint: stick to the timings, push hard, and the results show.

Chris has been lifting for 30 years and this program changed his body and his wellbeing. It scales with whatever you bring to it.

Train hard, recover well, eat a high-protein diet and live the lifestyle — you'll feel better within a week and notice changes within a month. It isn't a magic pill, it's a blueprint. You'll get out of it what you put in.
